Omar Siddiqui is a Senior Program Manager at the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI). He leads EPRI’s customer research program and guides adjacent R&D in Distributed Energy Resources (DER) integration, including electrification and electric transportation, energy efficiency and demand response, renewable generation, and energy storage. He leads EPRI’s work to integrate customer adoption of emerging technologies into utility forecasting and to model the resultant impacts on grid flexibility and reliability. Mr. Siddiqui also coordinates EPRI research towards a shared integrated grid data platform that links customers to grid operations. He recently published a framework to assess the cost-effectiveness of electrification.
Mr. Siddiqui previously served for three years as Director of EPRI’s energy utilization research area. He has published prominent studies assessing energy efficiency potential and the impact of grid modernization on carbon emissions. He consults with power companies and governments worldwide and is a frequent speaker at industry conferences.
Mr. Siddiqui holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Stanford University and an MBA from the Anderson School of Management at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He also completed an executive legal program from the Vermont Law School.
