Digaunto Chatterjee is Vice President, System Planning at Eversource. In this role, he is responsible for Transmission and Distribution Planning and Standards across Eversource's tri-state footprint. Mr. Chatterjee guides the advanced forecasting, modeling and the technical studies that serve as the foundation to the development of the 10- and 20-Year T&D Reliability and Resilience Capital Plan. These strategic technical studies incorporate scenario based probabilistic forecasts that include impacts of Transmission and Distribution connected Renewable generation, state or federal Electrification goals and mandates as well as more recently impacts of Climate Change. In his Gray Sky role, Mr. Chatterjee serves as the Director of Forecasting Branch charged with enabling efficient Storm Restoration through deployment of dashboards and analytical tools to provide real time visibility of Damage, Crew and Restoration assessment.
Previously, Mr. Chatterjee served as Vice President, Investment Strategy at GE Capital, where he led fundamental Energy and Capacity market analyses to inform investment decisions of over 2 GW of renewables throughout US.
Mr. Chatterjee began his professional career over twenty years ago at GE Energy Consulting performing Engineering studies for utilities both within and outside US. Mr. Chatterjee subsequently worked for MISO where he led Reliability and Economic Transmission Planning as well as Resource Adequacy. At MISO, Mr. Chatterjee successfully led implementation of FERC Orders 890, 1000 as well as Technical studies in support of Zonal Capacity Market construct. Mr. Chatterjee led the reliability justification of MISO's Multi Value Projects planned and constructed to enable about 21 GW of onshore wind across Midwest.
Mr. Chatterjee earned his Bachelors in Power Electronics Engineering from Nagpur University, India. He earned his Master’s in Electric Power Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and an MBA from University of Chicago-Booth School of Business. He is a member of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
