Vice President for Strategic Initiatives
Coalition for Community Solar Access (CCSA)
Mike has served as the Vice President for Strategic Initiatives at the Coalition for Community Solar Access since September 2021. In this role, Mike directs the Coalition's work on state and federal regulatory affairs, with a particular focus on DER interconnection and grid integration. Before joining CCSA, Mike worked at the Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities (DPU), where he served as the Director of Electric Power, Regional, and Federal Affairs, managing the agency’s oversight of electric power sector issues such as interconnection, net metering, grid modernization, energy efficiency, and retail electric supply. Prior to his time at the DPU, Mike served as the Director of the Renewable and Alternative Energy Division at the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources (DOER), where he was responsible for designing and implementing policies and programs that supported the development of renewable energy generation and energy storage, such as the Renewable Portfolio Standard, SREC I and II Programs, Clean Peak Standard, and SMART Program. Mike received a B.A. in both Geography and History from UMass Amherst. He lives in Boston, MA.
