Debbie Brodt-Giles is the Group Manager for DATA: Data, Analytics, Tools, and Applications within the Strategic Energy Analysis Center at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. She is a leader in the fields of data-driven software platforms, data accessibility standards, and cloud computing and helps ensure that every tool developed will help enable new data analyses and innovative entrepreneurial advancements. Debbie enjoys making open data accessible and reusable for the benefit of the energy community because she knows that data can literally change the world. Debbie’s team engineers data management systems, software solutions, web applications, data visualizations and cloud computing solutions that help analysts and researchers perform computations, simulations, data science, and modeling.
She also is the program manager for the American-Made Challenges prize program, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy. This program accelerates innovation in energy technologies and new businesses by providing innovative multi-phase prizes, a robust network of support organizations, and voucher services to connect innovators with the national labs.
