If you’ve ever tried listening to someone who repeatedly inserts a distracting filler word, you realize how hard it is to focus on what they are saying. Others will have a hard time focusing on your message if they are continually distracted by any filler words that you use such as ah or um and you know. Fortunately, it is possible to minimize and even eliminate filler words when you speak. Learn how to use silence, better known as a pregnant pause, to collect your thoughts or engage your audience more fully.
This session will describe what you can do to prepare in advance before you speak in public. Learn tips and tricks on what you can do while you’re speaking to enhance your message including how to optimize the look and feel of your PowerPoint slides. Find out what feedback to ask from others that will help you on your journey to becoming a better speaker.
