Biomedical Engineer

Stephanie Shedd, B.S., RAC is a Biomedical Engineer at the FDA in the Center for Devices and Radiologic Health. Ms. Shedd received her bachelor’s degree magna cum laude in bioengineering from the University of Pittsburgh. She became aware of FDA through presentations from recent Pitt grads turned FDA employees via the Senior Design course. Ms. Shedd has been a lead reviewer for OPEQ since 2005, and is currently a senior reviewer for DHT6B, Division of Spinal Devices, focusing on intervertebral body fusion cages and devices for pediatric patients. She has been recognized for her review of a novel anterior non fusion device for adolescent idiopathic scoliosis patients, and for her work as a mentor for new employees. She also has experience in bioresearch monitoring, internal training, and guidance/policy development. Outside of work, Ms. Shedd enjoys spending time with family, running, biking, and cooking.
