Description: With increasing number of new chemical entities having poor solubility profile and bioavailability outcomes it is ardent to resolve solubility hurdles with smooth, non-cumbersome process. Existing manufacturing methods are limited by process requirements or down streaming methods to achieve a drug candidate’s full therapeutic potential. This is a unique emulsion-based technology that utilizes standard pharma equipment to manufacture microparticles as amorphous solid dispersions, with a controlled target particle size that can be delivered by oral route. It is specifically useful for challenging API’s with high melting points and low solubility in common organic solvents; to be processed at low temperatures, low mechanical stress and at high solid content in solution. Outcome of this technology is controlled particle engineered, free-flowing powder with a process that can be seamlessly scalable from R&D to commercial scale.
During this session details of technology, along with case studies of enhanced drug solubility and pharmacokinetic performance will be presented.
