Microneedle patches can enable simplified vaccination without expert administration, cold-chain storage or biohazardous sharps waste that can enable rapid vaccination and facilitate vaccination of hard-to-reach populations. This presentation will address novel microneedle patch technologies as well as findings from pre-clinical and clinical studies of microneedle patch vaccination.
Learning Objectives:
Understand design objectives and strategies for microneedle patches
Appreciate the strengths and weaknesses of vaccination by microneedle patch
Gain insight into recent preclinical and clinical data on microneedle patch vaccination
