Development of topical products provide unique challenges in the formulation development, scale up & manufacturing and bioequivalence studies. Some challenges include, but not limited to variability in performance of the reference product, establishing bioequivalence using in vitro techniques especially, skin permeation studies and scaling up to commercial batch sizes. Some of these challenges can be overcome using artificial intelligence & machine learning. This talk will cover some of these aspects of topical product development.
