The Covid pandemic has brought renewed interest in patient-centric means of collecting blood samples without requiring travel to a lab or clinic. While remote nursing is feasible, it is not practically scalable, is expensive, and still requires the collection of large volumes of blood. The availability of verified and approved patient-centric blood sampling devices and techniques and their successful adoption will be key to enable Decentralized Clinical Trials, including the access to patients in remote and resource constrained geographies, and will enable better clinical care. This presentation will discuss adopting patient centric sampling approaches beyond traditional PK testing.
