Dr. M. Delwar Hussain is Professor of Pharmaceutics, Husson University. He also holds appointments as Adjunct Professor at University of Texas at Tyler and California State University, Fresno. Prior to Husson University he served as Professor & Interim Chair, Department of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Sciences, and Director of Pharmaceutical Research, California Health Sciences University. Dr. Hussain also worked in Pharmaceutical Industries. He received his Ph.D. from University of Alberta, Canada.
Dr. Hussain has 25+ years of professional pharmacy and graduate teaching experience. His research includes nanomedicine, drug delivery, and pharmacokinetics. He has trained many scientists, post-docs, and graduate (PhD & MS) & professional (PharmD, MD) students. His work at pharmaceutical industries resulted in marketed drug products such as Eligard® for treatment of prostate cancer.
Dr. Hussain served as Chair for both Community of Nanotechnology, and Nanotechnology Focus Group, American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS). Currently, he is steering committee member of Community of Nanotechnology, AAPS. He was elected as the first President, American Association of Bangladeshi Pharmaceutical Scientists (AABPS). He served as Chair, Pharmaceutics Section, American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy; Secretary & Treasurer, South Texas Section of American Chemical Society (ACS); and Experts Committee Member, United States Pharmacopeia (USP).
