Dr. Tonglei Li is a professor in the Department of Industrial & Physical Pharmacy, College of Pharmacy, at Purdue University. He started his academic career in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Kentucky. In 2012, he took his current position as Professor and Allen Chao Chair. His research interests include solid-state organic chemistry, computational chemistry, formulation, and drug delivery. His recent efforts have been focused on developing multiscale modeling and simulation approaches to predict the in vivo fate of drug delivery systems and products. His group also attempts to develop novel computational methods for characterizing intermolecular interactions of small and large molecules with a recent love of deep learning. Dr. Li obtained his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics, as well as his M.S. in Computer Science, from Purdue University. He received his B.S. and M.S. in Chemistry from Nankai University (Tianjin, China). He is AAPS Fellow and currently serves on FDA’s Pharmaceutical Science and Clinical Pharmacology Advisory Committee. He has been the Editor-in-Chief of Pharmaceutical Research since 2020.
