Steven W. Louie, M.S. Steven is a Senior Principal Scientist in the Pharmacokinetic Sciences Department at Novartis Institute for Biomedical Research (NIBR) in Cambridge, Massachusetts. His primary role is to support in vitro ADME IND submissions packages for lead molecule candidates. His secondary role is to develop in vitro mechanistic studies to evaluate PB/PK parameters to support IVIVE clinical dose projections. He also serves as a project manager for new oncology modality programs. In his former role as the Director of Transporter Sciences at BioIVT, he served as the scientific liaison between clients, sales representatives, and in-house scientists for in vitro ADME-Tox services. Prior to BioIVT, Steven supported 20+ years preclinical discovery and development experience with Amgen, Merck, and GSK running their in vitro transporter studies in DMPK. Steven is an active member of AAPS and is the Co-Chair of the ADME subcommittee of the Gene & Cell Therapy Products Community and Past Chair of the Pharmacokinetic, Pharmacodynamics, and Drug Metabolism (PPDM) and Drug Transport Communities. He is serving on the AAPS Horizon Planning Committee for implementing the organization’s strategic plan and the Rapid Fire Programming Committee. He is also the 2020 Chair of the Boston Society HT-ADME Conference.
