Tapan is a Senior Director in Cell Therapy Development, Bristol Myers Squibb. Previously he led several groups in BMS Biologics Development. His interests and expertise include cell therapeutic product and protein biologics attribute sciences such as analytical method development, characterization, validation, and overall control strategy.
Before joining BMS, he led teams at Pfizer Biotherapeutics R&D for drug product process & formulation development and protein structure characterization. Prior to that, he worked in a small biotech company developing cancer biomarkers using tissue proteomics and mass spectrometry. Tapan also spent several years at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, NY and gained experience in building successful academic collaborations nationally and internationally.
Tapan is a member and Fellow of American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) and serving in the AAPS Board of Directors as the Treasurer. He is also a member of the United States Pharmacopeial Convention (USP) Expert Committee for proteins/biologics. He has authored more than 100 original research articles, industry white papers, commentaries, and patents.
