Richard Wu M.D. is a Staff Clinician at the Vaccine Research Center, and a Medical Officer for the United States Public Health Service. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and his Allergy / Immunology fellowship at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Allergy / Immunology. He serves as a Principal Investigator and Medical Officer of multiple phase 1 clinical trials for vaccine candidates and monoclonal antibodies against infectious targets such as Malaria, Ebola, COVID-19, HIV, Influenza, and Nipah virus. He is responsible for designing, implementing, and providing oversight of clinical trials for the Vaccine Research Center. Additionally, he represents the Vaccine Research Center on collaborations with external academic and industry partners. His research has been published in journals such as The New England Journal of Medicine, Nature Medicine and The Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology.
