Description: IVIG fractionated from human plasma is used to treat various autoimmune, infectious, and idiopathic diseases. For over 70 years, IVIG has been produced with the Cohn process which requires large volumes of ethanol. Here we describe a fundamentally different process to produce IVIG. This process requires less time (reducing the cost), produces higher yield (reducing the demand for blood donations), and has greater purity (reducing the risk of adverse events).
