Principal Scientist
Pion Inc, United Kingdom
I am the Principal Scientist at Pion. My main work is design and oversee research experiments, determining which projects should be prioritized due to their importance to internal and external objectives. The results and conclusions are presented for marketing product and also at conferences and to relevant scientific publications. I like to interact with customers and sales to support and guide the best experiments or project design to achieve the expected results.
I obtained my European PhD in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Barcelona in Spain. My thesis and Master's were focused mainly on pKa (ionisation constant) analysis studying a diversity of techniques, media and different calculation approaches. However, lipophilicity and solubility also formed part of my doctorate and I has published my work in internationally recognised scientific journals. In 2003, I spent one year at Pion as part of her doctorate and joined Pion full-time in 2009.
My favourite part of my role is travelling to visit Pion SiriusT3 users for training or to discuss and help to find the best technique or analysis which answers their needs for their challenging compounds.
