Dr. Yellepeddi is an Associate Professor in the Division of Clinical Pharmacology, School of Medicine, University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA. Dr. Yellepeddi is also an adjunct faculty with the Department of Molecular Pharmaceutics, College of Pharmacy, University of Utah. Prior to joining academia, he also worked in the pharmaceutical companies such as Sanofi, Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals, and Nektar Therapeutics at various levels in the field of clinical pharmacology and drug development.
Dr. Yellepeddi completed his pharmacy degree from Kakatiya University, India, and is a licensed pharmacist in the State of Utah. After his pharmacy education, he obtained his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Texas A&M Health Science Center, Texas, USA. He is also an American Board of Clinical Pharmacology (ABCP) certified Clinical Pharmacologist and completed a Certificate Program in Healthcare Leadership from David Eccles School of Business, University of Utah.
Dr. Yellepeddi's research interests include Phase I human clinical studies of new drug formulations, model-informed drug design, and clinical pharmacokinetics. Dr. Yellepeddi's scholarly accomplishments include 42 publications in peer-reviewed journals with 1427 citations and one patent. He is the principal investigator on two FDA-approved Investigational New Drug (IND) applications and is involved in several human clinical trials as a co-investigator. Dr. Yellepeddi was successful in obtaining extramural funding from NIH and industry and is currently a co-investigator on two NIH-funded R01 grants involving pharmacokinetic studies in special populations such as pediatrics and chronic kidney disease patients on hemodialysis. Dr. Yellepeddi's service appointments include Member, Data Safety and Monitoring Committee, Huntsman Cancer Institute, Utah, Grant Reviewer, NINDS, NIH, and Associate Editor, Frontiers in Pharmacology.
