Director and Founder
Alganelle, France
Ghislaine Tissot-Lécuelle (PhD) is the Director and founder of ALGANELLE. Based on her over 25 years of experience in synthetic biology and metabolic engineering of microalgae, plants and bacteria, Ghislaine founded ALGANELLE in 2013 with the commitment to develop innovative sustainable technologies and products contributing for improving the quality of life and health of people while preserving biodiversity and the environment.
After a PhD in plant cellular and molecular biology in Rhône-Poulenc and a post-doctoral position in Professor Ohlrogge’s Lab (Michigan State University; USA), Ghislaine, before Alganelle’s inception, worked for 9 years in Bayer Cropscience as R&D project leader on the development of innovative methods in chloroplast genome engineering for the successful recombinant production of active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) proteins and agronomic traits in plants (tobacco and soybean).
Thanks to its technological breakthrough and its rare know-how, ALGANELLE has developed proprietary products (such as recombinant bioactive peptides and proteins, active pharmaceuticals ingredients, metabolites) and other products (customized bioproduction and/or microalgae optimization) co-developed with industry leaders.
Focused on therapeutic, biomedical and biomaterial markets, ALGANELLE provides its customers with very high quality ingredients, safer (no infectious agents for humans, no bacterial or animal toxins, nor viruses) and obtained from sustainable and differentiating processes that preserve the biodiversity and environment.
