Absorption Systems, a Pharmaron Company
Chris Bode, Ph.D. is VP of Scientific Affairs at Absorption Systems, a Pharmaron company. Since joining the company in 2006, one of his responsibilities has been to capture and disseminate the mission and messages of Absorption Systems to the world. He has been Study Director for most of the Biopharmaceutics Classification System (BCS) studies conducted in support of numerous BCS-based biowaivers. He has also directed transporter and drug metabolism studies, served as Scientific Reviewer for hundreds of projects, and directs and/or provides scientific input into various research projects, grants, and contracts. For example, he directed a project funded by a two-year FDA contract in which a novel in-vitro testing platform was used to investigate the feasibility of expanding BCS Class 3 biowaivers for generic drugs to non-Q1/Q2 formulations. Prior to Absorption Systems, Dr. Bode spent seventeen years in the pharmaceutical industry, including five years as VP of Operations for Tissue Transformation Technologies, a leading provider of tissue-based in-vitro reagents for drug metabolism studies. His Ph.D. in pharmacology is from the University of Colorado, and postdoctoral research was conducted at UC San Diego.
