Description: Recent progress in formulation and manufacturing techniques allows for the development of innovative softgels with several benefits. By varying the shell and the fill formulation, the release properties of softgel content can be modulated. With various presentation formats such as tablet-in-softgel or softgel in stick pack, the needs of different patients and consumers in the pharma and supplement markets can be met. The utility of stick pack for delivering large doses will also be discussed.
