Stephen Morris, PhD, is currently Managing Director at EverGlade Consulting and Chief Science Officer at EverGlade Pharmaceuticals. He has over 30 years of experience in industry and US Government service. His USG experience includes five years managing a portfolio of biodefense/biowarfare vaccines at DoD and eight years managing a portfolio of antivirals and antitoxins as a Branch Chief in the CBRN Division at BARDA. That portfolio, valued at over $4B, included the first five products to be approved/licensed by the FDA using the Animal Rule. During this time he also completed BARDA's first deliveries to the Strategic National Stockpile. Before joining the USG, Dr. Morris worked in cell and gene therapy biotech, contributing to some of the first gene therapy clinical trials. Since 2018 he has worked as a consultant, using his experience in USG funding and product development to assist clients. These clients have awards from both DoD and HHS for the development of therapeutics, vaccines, and diagnostic devices. Recent clients received awards for industral base expansion and supply chain resiliency. Stephen received his PhD from Purdue University in Biochemistry in 1990 and completed his post-doctoral training in the Pathology Department at UCSF in 1995.
