PRE-REGISTERED PARTICIPANTS MEET IN THE WESTIN LOBBY AT 1:10PM
The Charlotte Pipe and Foundry tour is an interactive, walking tour of the manufacturing process for cast iron pipe and fittings. This unique opportunity will allow participants to observe the steps necessary to produce top-quality cast iron pipe and fittings, along with meeting the Associates that make it all possible.
Participants will observe a number of production areas, including scrap iron melting operations in a cupola and 60-80 ton holding furnaces, various machinery (DISA machines, Four and Multi-Flask, Shell Core, etc.) and procedures used when producing our extensive product line, and more. Participants will also receive an overview of Charlotte Pipe’s quality control and testing procedures, and see firsthand how these comply with industry standards, such as CISPI standards and the NSF Certification Program.
Note: Participants are required to wear closed-toe shoes like leather or mesh-upper tennis shoes and long pants like denim or khaki, not synthetics. Open-toe shoes are not allowed. Cameras, photography, recording devices, and shorts are not allowed.
