Victoria Habet, D.O. graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences and Chemistry from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas and then followed this with a doctorate degree in Osteopathic Medicine at the University of North Texas Health Science Center. She graduated from Pediatric Internship and Residency at Louisiana State University in New Orleans and recently completed Pediatric Critical Care Medicine Fellowship at Yale University, where she received distinction in the Investigation Scholarly Pathway. She is currently pursuing an advanced fellowship in Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care at Boston Children's Hospital. She is most passionate about immune-pulmonary cell interaction in pediatric acute lung injury. Her fellowship research project concentrates on acute lung injury in children after cardiopulmonary bypass and in children with severe viral lower respiratory tract infections. She leverages single cell transcriptomic, metabolomic, and proteomic analyses on serial, deep tracheobronchial lavage samples collected from intubated pediatric patients. Her project is focused on integrating these multiomic datasets to identify and better describe the major pathways that are augmented in various types of acute lung injury. This project has allowed her broad experiences in clinical, bioinformatic, and basic science research.
