Annette (Toni) Imprescia RN, BSN, CCRN, is a staff nurse level III and clinical educator in the CICU at Boston Children’s Hospital. She is the first Associate Clinical Director of the CICU Nursing Program for SIMPeds, and has held that position for over 4 years. Toni has over 30 years of experience caring for children with congenital and acquired heart disease and over 15 years of experience in the educator role. She is a founding member of the simulation faculty and has been instrumental in developing and implementing a structured CICU nursing orientation simulation curriculum. Recently, she collaborated with the CICU Nurse Practitioner group enhancing the orientation simulation curriculum to include the role of the nurse practitioner, improving interdisciplinary communication and promoting team dynamics. Her body of work demonstrates that she is committed to promoting education, nurse empowerment and interdisciplinary team work. She travels globally presenting and promoting education, and empowering nursing.
She is a longstanding member of PCICS and is currently the Co-Chair of the Bedside Nursing SIG. She has presented posters, facilitated workshops and has given podium presentations at past meetings.
