Dr Kreutzer is Professor of Pediatrics, University of Pittsburgh, and Division Chief for Cardiology at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. She holds the Peter and Ada Rossin Endowed Chair in Pediatric Cardiology. She has over 20 years of practice in congenital catheter intervention, and directed the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory for 15 years. In 2017 she was appointed Division Chief and Co-Director of the Heart Institute. Under her leadership, in close collaboration with CT Surgery, CICU and Cardiac Anesthesia, she has helped move the program forward to rank among the top 3 programs in the United States News and World Report for the last 3 consecutive years. The main areas of her academic interest include: 1- Novel catheter/device technology, animal testing & clinical trials; 2- Single ventricle physiology and interventional therapies; 3- Transcatheter management of peripheral pulmonary artery stenosis; 4- Cardiac catheterization Outcomes Research and Quality Improvement; 5- Transcatheter valve therapies. She is Board Certified in Pediatric Cardiology and Adult Congenital Heart Disease. She has lectured extensively nationally and internationally. Dr Kreutzer has authored over 100 publications, and has a long history of commitment to teaching and mentoring students, residents, fellows, and colleagues from the US and abroad. She has also served and continues to serve in many academic committees (American Board of Pediatrics Board of Pediatric Cardiology, SCAI, AHA, NCDR®, CCISC, APS, etc.), as well as several editorial positions (i.e, JACC).
