Dr. Sivarajan's background of training is in Pediatrics, Pediatric Cardiology and Pediatric Critical Care at Toronto's Sickkids, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne Australia respectively. He has a background in Clinical Epidemiology after completion of a Masters in Science (MS) at the University of Michigan and has subsequently been involved in collaborative clinical research through the Pediatric Heart Network and the NHLBI. His clinical and research focus includes extracorporeal life support, cardiovascular physiology and long term outcomes after pediatric critical illness and organ donation. He has previously led the Pediatric Organ and Tissue Donation program at Sickkids with development of the program's DCD process.
He is currently a Clinical Associate Professor of Pediatrics and the Medical Director/Chief, Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care at the Stollery Children’s Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta CANADA. He has and continues to serve as Program Director of the Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care Medicine Fellowship Program for the past 5 years and is currently a member of the National Examination Board for Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
