Asaad G Beshish, MD. Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist - Emory University School of Medicine - Children's Healthcare of Atlanta
I graduated from University of Tripoli for Medical Science in Tripoli, Libya and then moved to the USA to pursue higher level of education. I started my journey at the University of Wisconsin pediatric residency program, followed by completion of fellowship training in pediatric critical care at the University of Michigan (C.S. Mott Children's Hospital), and pediatric cardiology at Stanford University (Lucile Packard Children's Hospital).
My research interests are looking at functional outcomes in patients after extracorporeal life support (ELSO), following cardiac arrest and following cardiac surgery, immune dysregulation associated with ECLS. Other areas of interest are outcomes following cardiac surgery and examining risk factors associated with increase morbidity and mortality in the cardiac ICU. Identifying modifiable risk factors will help improve outcomes
