Children’s of Alabama, located in Birmingham, is one of the top pediatric hospitals in the Southeast, according to U.S. News & World Report. In its latest survey, the publication ranked Children’s in a three-way tie for No. 1 in the category.
The Joseph S. Bruno Pediatric Heart Center at Children’s is a comprehensive cardiac center with more than 350 staff members specially trained to care for patients with congenital and acquired cardiac conditions. In 2021, we performed more than 750 cardiac catheterizations and electrophysiology procedures, along with 400 cardiac surgeries. From 2018-21, we performed 19 heart transplants. We have over 11,500 outpatient cardiology clinic visits each year.
