Educational Gap:
Pediatrics and pediatric cardiac care are dynamic ever-changing fields of evidence based medicine. Novel approaches are needed to enhance multidisciplinary team performance and resiliency, and analyses of new research studies and quality improvement initiatives relevant to pediatric intensive care and pediatric cardiac intensive care will improve patient outcomes.
Learner Objectives:
1. Identify state-of-the-art evaluation and management strategies, quality improvement principles and collaborative research opportunities in pediatric cardiac intensive care
2. Describe innovative approaches to current challenges facing pediatric cardiac intensive care providers and identify the ethical dilemmas related to end of life care in pediatric cardiac patients
3. Construct opportunities to improve work environments through case-based learning
