Whiplash, defined as a neck injury due to forceful, rapid back-and-forth, forceful movement of the neck, is a misunderstood entity that can cause chronic pain. One study estimated that each year about 3 million Americans sustain whiplash injuries; about half of those experience chronic pain. This course will discuss whiplash and the current state of the art treatment. It will also detail risk factors, etiology, and outcomes.
