My expertise is in the area of Clinical Psychology. I am an assistant professor in the departments of Anesthesiology and Medical Psychology. I treat patients with chronic pain in outpatient and inpatient settings. I use treatment approaches such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Biofeedback, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, and Hypnotherapy in my clinical practice. I provide individual and group psychotherapy in the area of pain management. I have facilitated pain management groups using a CBT and ACT approach, as well as support groups for those with fibromyalgia and pelvic pain.. I am also a faculty member for the Columbia pain fellowship. I teach anesthesia residents and pain medicine fellows about the role of psychology in pain management. Additionally I provide supervision and help teach clinical psychology interns.
