This presentation will provide attendees with a clear understanding of the value of interventional procedures for treating chronic pain. Guidelines recommending nonopioid therapy, nerve blocks, injections, and neuromodulation strategies are assuming an increasing role in managing chronic pain. Common procedures used for pain reduction will be highlighted, their evidence base, and a basic description of how each procedure is performed. The course will primarily review strategies for treating low back pain, neck pain, radicular pain, knee pain, and incorporate spinal cord stimulation, peripheral nerve stimulation, and intrathecal pumps.
