Hilary C. Tompkins provides legal counsel to private sector clients in the areas of natural resources, environmental, energy, and Native American law. Hilary served as the Solicitor of the Department of the Interior (2009-2017) where she gained invaluable knowledge regarding offshore renewable energy development, and deep familiarity with the National Environmental Policy Act, the National Historic Preservation Act, the Endangered Species Act, and many other statutes at play in the permitting of offshore wind.
Prior to her Interior service, Hilary was chief counsel to New Mexico's governor and served as a legal adviser to Indian tribes. Hilary started her career in the prestigious Honors Trial Attorney Program at the U.S. Department of Justice. Hilary was recently elected to serve on the Dartmouth Board of Trustees.
Hilary is an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation.
