The Biden Administration electrified the offshore wind industry by announcing an ambitious goal of deploying 15 GW of floating offshore wind by 2035. A major hurdle that must be overcome to reach 15 GW is the current lack of ports that are capable of handling the assembly of floating wind turbines and foundations before they are towed out to the project site. This panel will discuss the challenges faced on both the East and West Coasts, and potential funding and logistical solutions to ensure the US floating wind industry can reach its full potential.
