CEO, Co-Founder
Bedrock Ocean Exploration
Brooklyn, New York, United States
Anthony DiMare is the Co-Founder and CEO of Bedrock Ocean Exploration, an ocean-mapping data company creating the world’s first detailed publicly available data library of the ocean floor to fight climate change and support the offshore wind industry and beyond. Bedrock combines fleets of autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) with a universal survey data cloud platform to reduce the time, environmental impact, and cost associated with seafloor exploration and ultimately the end-use cases of that data. Its technology will accelerate geophysical ocean mapping to support the #offshorewind industry — a critical step for decarbonizing the electrical grid.
Before Bedrock, Anthony worked as a naval architect on commercial ferries, ships, and pleasure crafts. He was then the first engineer at Bre & Co (Makerbot Innovation Lab, led by Bre Pettis) + Grow Labs in NYC before founding and serving as CEO of Nautilus Labs, a fuel and fleet optimization company for commercial cargo fleets with a goal of reducing 2% of global emissions. Anthony was then inspired to work on one of the largest unsolved exploration problems on the planet and create a product that makes seafloor data much more accessible to better understand our ocean quickly to protect our environment and the remainder of the living things on the planet for the next millennium and beyond.
His goal at Bedrock is to accelerate the rate renewable energy companies can build critical offshore infrastructure, specifically offshore wind farms and ultimately map the entire ocean floor in high resolution within a single year. With Anthony’s mechanical engineering background, Bedrock was founded at the inception of the pandemic in 2020 and has raised over $8 million in seed funding, with the official unveiling of its AUV and data cloud platform in fall 2021. In 2021, Anthony was listed on the Forbes’ 30 Under 30 List for Manufacturing and Industry and has appeared on CNN, Morning Brew, and several other news sources.
