Federal Affairs Director

Claire started as Federal Affairs Director at American Clean Power Association (ACP), the national renewable trade association representing offshore and onshore wind, solar, transmission, and storage companies, in July 2020. She serves as a strategist and legislative liaison with the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate in pursuit of ACP's policy priorities, primarily focused on offshore wind development. Claire facilitates member company meetings to gather and consolidate multiple company priorities into a single industry position. She then works with member companies to create messaging and literature to educate Capitol Hill on industry positions. She also facilitates the ACP Maritime Subcommittee which works on vessel and Coast Guard issues.
Previously, she worked for an east coast Senator for four years on a variety of environmental and energy issues including fisheries, offshore wind, and maritime. She contributed in enacting the Senator’s priorities in the Maritime Administration Reauthorizations Fiscal Years 2019 and 2020, Coast Guard Reauthorization Act of 2019, the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, and other legislation including offshore wind tax credits. She has experience successfully negotiating bipartisan compromises, especially on fisheries issues.
Claire is a graduate of Boston University with a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Policy & Analysis and International Relations. In her free time, she enjoys backpacking, rowing, bicycle commuting, speaking French, and baking.
