Laura Morton advises clients on all stages of complex renewable energy projects, including environmental review and permitting required for generation, transmission, and related infrastructure. Prior to joining Perkins Coie, Laura served as the American Clean Power Association’s senior director of offshore wind policy and regulatory affairs, where her portfolio included the leasing and permitting process and multiple-use compatibility in the ocean environment, including wildlife, fisheries, and transmission. Laura also served acting deputy chief of staff at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, senior advisor in the Office of the U.S. Secretary of Energy, and deputy associate director for energy and climate change at the Council for Environmental Quality. While at DOE, Laura served as the agency’s representative on interagency transmission, and ocean energy task forces and co-authored the first National Offshore Wind Strategy and the 2015 Quadrennial Energy Review.
