Presentation Description: The Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) guidance for when to file wind turbines is clear: anything above 200 feet must be filed within U.S. territorial waters. In addition, the FAA may require filing other structures such as on- and off-shore substations and transmission lines as well as temporary structures such as maintenance areas, floating wind turbines, and marine vessels. Join us in discussing the items that are not typically “top of mind” when considering potential FAA and Department of Defense (DoD) constraints for your Gulf, East, and West coast planning.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, participant will be able to objectively consider other relevant federal filing requirements and the broad scope involving construction, installation, and maintenance of offshore wind projects.
