Presentation Description: With pre-construction activities already underway on Southfork Wind, it has been important to re-introduce the organization and project to various stakeholders. Its complicated, and requires frequent & continuous coordination among myriad maritime stakeholders, including: contractors/subcontractors, other developers’ vessels, commercial and recreational fishing, commercial shipping, various ferries, naval (especially submarine) operations, sightseers, Coast Guard and state/local marine patrols, harbormasters, etc. This presentation describes techniques, requirements, and lessons identified from current outreach efforts at the first commercial scale windfarm under construction in the US.
