Danica MacRae, MSN, RN, CHSE, currently works as a Simulation Coordinator and an Associate Professor at Austin Community College in the professional nursing department. In her first year as Simulation Coordinator, 2017, she played her first interactive-branching virtual simulation and was hooked. Shortly after that, Danica began developing her own interactive virtual simulations. Danica's current projects and interests include pre-simulation preparation, the use and development of gamification in nursing simulation, and faculty development for debriefing. In addition to her ongoing participation as a member of the OADN-Unbound Medicine Virtual Simulation Review, she has collaborated on research and projects with members of the Canadian Alliance of Nurse Educators Using Simulation.
