Michele Gonser, MSN, RN, is the Director of Quality Improvement for Nursing at Ivy Tech Community College in Indiana and the Interim Dean of Nursing at one of the Ivy Tech campuses. Serving 23 schools of nursing in 19 service areas throughout the state of Indiana in her DQI role, she oversees and coordinates the development and management of Systematic Evaluation Plans for each service area, as well as an aggregate, statewide Plan. She maintains and monitors all aspects of data collection and reporting, provides oversight of initiatives related to regulatory and accreditation agencies and standards, and assists in the development of, and monitors service area Quality Improvement Plans and planning for program accreditation. Michele taught at the undergraduate level and served as Practical Nursing Program Chair prior to stepping into her current position. Her bedside nursing experience included post-anesthesia recovery and med-surg nursing, followed by 8 years as Infection Control Practitioner for a major health system.
