Dr. Kimberly Mau, DNP, MSN, RN, joined Western Governors University in 2019, and currently serves as the Associate Dean and Academic Program Director for the RN-BSN and RN-MSN Bridge Programs. Dr. Mau completed her post-master’s Doctor of Nursing Practice at Northern Kentucky University in 2020, and her Master of Science in Nursing at Olivet Nazarene University with a focus in Community and Family Health in 2003. She has been a nurse for 25 years and has worked in nursing education for over 20 years. Prior to joining WGU, Dr. Mau served as clinical nurse resource educator for a southern Indiana Magnet medical center, serving as director of the new nurse residency program and advisor to the evidenced-based practice and nursing research council. Before moving to Indiana with her family, Dr. Mau served as co-lead faculty for the senior-level Community and Population Health courses for traditional BSN and accelerated BAC/BSN programs for 5 years. She also served as interim co-director of Undergraduate Studies at Lewis University in Romeoville, Illinois. In addition to her work with BSN students, Dr. Mau served as Associate Dean of Health Careers, Director of Nursing Programs, and professor at Kankakee Community College for 12 years, providing administrative oversight to 11 health careers programs including the associate degree, practical nursing, and CNA programs. Dr. Mau has extensive background in nursing education at various levels that includes both administrative and instructional experience in the classroom, clinical, and online settings. Her educational leadership experience includes accreditation, program assessment, curriculum evaluation, and curriculum design at the undergraduate level to ensure alignment with course, program, university, and national performance outcomes.
