Dr. Kimberly Beechler is currently a Senior Professor at Daytona State College, School of
Nursing where she is the Patient Simulation Learning Outcomes Specialist. She received a Doctorate of Education with a concentration of Simulation Education from Nova Southeastern University, an MSN from the University of Phoenix, and a BSN from Carlow University. Her research explores prebriefing.
Dr. Beechler is a pioneer and innovator in patient simulation. Over the last 19 years she has designed simulation centers, designed techniques for simulation education, authored simulation moulage/simulated clinical experiences, assisted with development of a simulation facilitation course, mentored simulation facilitators, implemented interdisciplinary simulations and assisted in development innovative simulation tools. She expanded simulation from just a few simulation experiences to integration of over 2500 hours throughout nursing and allied health curricula. She has been a member of the FHSA almost since inception of the alliance. She is a member of INACSL and SSH and has presented many of her innovations. Dr. Beechler envisions advancements in simulation learning through mentorship, alliances, partnerships and membership networking.
In addition, Dr. Beechler serves as Student Success Faculty. In this role she collaborates with colleagues to facilitate student success through the Jump Start Student Success program, tutoring, remediation, and clinical skills improvement.
