Dr. Teresa Darnall worked in health administration for over 15 years in Canada. Upon returning to the United States in 2010, she worked for DaVita Inc. as a group facility manager over three dialysis clinics. She has a BA (Spec) from the University of Alberta, BSN from University of Toronto, MA (Mgmt) from College of St. Scholastica, MSN in Nursing Education from Capella University, and Doctor of Management from University of Phoenix. Dr. Darnall is a Faith Community Nurse with providing health education and promotion, assessments, transitional care, and referrals to community agencies. She was the Assistant Dean of the May School of Nursing and Health Sciences at Lees-McRae College in Banner Elk, NC from 2015 to 2020. She is now an Associate Professor and Nursing Curriculum Coordinator at West Virginia Junior College. Dr. Darnall has presented at several international and national conferences on leadership, nursing leadership and education, and strategic planning. She holds board positions in national and state nursing organizations. Dr. Darnall has been a reviewer for several nursing textbooks, Nursing Open online peer-reviewed journal, and Online Journal of Rural Nursing and Health Care. Her research interests are health promotion in rural communities and nursing student experiences in community health. She holds Certification as a Nurse Educator. She lives with her husband, in the mountains of Western North Carolina. Her three adult children and two grandchildren reside in Canada.
