Director, Nursing: RN/ADN to BSN Program
Charter Oak State College
After a fulfilling clinical career, Linda entered academe in 2000, serving in faculty and director roles in associate degree (AD) education for over twenty years.
As a result of her work with very capable AD nursing students she developed a strong interest in their academic progression. In 2018 she earned a PhD from the University of Connecticut where her research focused on the experience of associate degree nurses progressing to the baccalaureate and the variables associated with their persistence.
Based upon her research, Linda led the development of the RN/ADN to BSN program at Charter Oak State College, opened in 2019, to facilitate the academic progression of CT’s AD nurses. The Charter Oak nursing program was accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) in September, 2020. Linda is currently the director and faculty of the Charter Oak State College RN/ADN to BSN program.
Linda believes the success of the RN/ADN to BSN program she leads directly relates to strong partnerships among students and faculty at the AD and BSN level, and most importantly strong academic/practice partnerships.
Linda engages in regional and national work to promote seamless academic progression of ADNs to the Baccalaureate.
