Sharrica Miller, PhD, RN, is a doctorally-prepared, board certified pediatric nurse practitioner with over 17 years of experience in nursing and nursing education. After spending 12 years of her childhood in foster care, Dr. Miller went on to obtain her BSN from Howard University and worked a multitude of nursing specialties including pediatrics, palliative care, and critical care, before going back to school to become a nurse practitioner. She earned her PhD from UCLA in 2017 has been teaching pre-licensure nursing students and new grads for 10 years.
Dr. Miller is a DEI consultant and strategist who utilizes both a personal and professional lens to facilitate evidence-based initiatives in academic and healthcare institutions. Her dynamic presentation style coupled with engaging storytelling skills allow participants to learn concrete strategies for how to solve diversity related issues and better support the clients they serve. She currently works as an Assistant Professor and Chair of Student Diversity of Engagement and she is the recipient of the 2019 Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Award at California State University, Fullerton. Dr. Miller is a nationally sought-after speaker who past clients include Indiana Center for Nursing, ATI, and the Organization for Associate Degree Nursing.
