Sarah A. Bernes is the director of training at Concert Health, a behavioral health medical group that makes it possible for providers and health plans to offer behavioral health services within primary care. Previously, Bernes grew the behavioral health training program at the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) for members across the United States and Canada. Bernes served as the director of suicide prevention at a network of federally qualified health centers in New York where she oversaw all activities related to caring for suicidal patients including training, policy, and research. At the Suicide Prevention Resource Center, Education Development Center, Bernes founded the Zero Suicide Institute and was instrumental in developing the Zero Suicide Toolkit.
