Matthew Taylor, MA, serves as Program Manager for Network Development at the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, the nation’s largest network of independently-operated crisis call centers. In this role, he is responsible for growing the capacity of the network as a whole, working with center, state and federal officials on strategic development and overseeing the application process for new centers. Prior to joining the Lifeline, Taylor served as executive director of Forefront: Innovations in Suicide Prevention at the University of Washington in Seattle, as well as director of the Montana Safe Schools Center at the University of Montana in Missoula, where he lives. During his 13 years at the Montana Safe Schools Center, Taylor provided extensive consultation and technical assistance to the U.S. Department of Education regarding emergency management in schools and to SAMHSA in the area of childhood traumatic stress within American Indian communities, psychological first aid in schools and secondary trauma mitigation.
