Lee Berlinquette is currently coordinating with the University of Minnesota Duluth, Continuing Education to offer Adult and Youth Mental Health First Aid on a local, regional and state level.
Lee became an MHFA Instructor in 2011 and was part of the pilot program for YMHFA beginning in 2012. She has been a National Trainer since 2014.
Prior to 2013 she was employed for 15+ years with Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota in the Youth and Family Services area. Berlinquette worked with at-risk and youth in crisis in a variety of programs including: managing a juvenile crisis shelter, coordinating diversion programs for first time juvenile offenders, and as an advocate within the school systems working with young people with severe truancy issues. During this time she also trained 600 youth serving staff and foster care providers in CPR/FA, mandated reporting, non-violent crisis intervention and child passenger safety.
Berlinquette also served on the Duluth Youth Agency Coalition, Chaired her Region 3 Social Service Board and sat on the board of directors for the Minnesota Social Service Association.
She has her BA in recreation and spent the first 15 years of her career in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada, as a special events coordinator, varsity and intramural athletics assistant, and a live in manager for the college residence.
After changing career paths she attended Lake Superior College where she was the first to graduate from their corrections program and invited to sit on the Corrections Advisory Board. She has transferred credits and is working part-time toward her social work degree.
Berlinquette continues as an independent trainer on a statewide level, offering tailor made training to businesses, non-profit and faith-based organizations, law enforcement and schools depending on what their needs may be.
